oakley wi
Oakley W.I. meets at 8.00pm on the second Tuesday of each month (except August) in the village hall. Although not a large WI, we enjoy a varied programme of speakers throughout the year and during 2022 – amongst other things - heard about life as a Royal Footman, life as a Country House servant (not quite as depicted in Downton Abbey!), what goes on behind the scenes as a film/TV extra and the life and times of Queen Victoria.
We enjoy at least one outing each year and celebrate our WI birthday in March with a meal at a local restaurant.
New members are always welcome – either come along to one of the meetings and introduce yourself or, if you are a little shy, contact any of the committee members and we will come and have a chat with you.
Use the Link to have a look at our 2023 programme and please come along and join us.
oakley players
A few years ago, (many more than we care to admit), a group of people from the village thought it would be a good idea to put together and perform a village show…. and since then we haven’t looked back!

oakley community cafe
Oakley Community Café takes place usually on the first Friday of every month (except August). The café is held at Oakley village hall from 10-11.30am.
We are a couple of Oakley residents who thought it would be nice to create a friendly local café, open to all. There is usually a good few home cakes and bakes on offer, along with tea and coffee. Any profit made is donated to a local good cause or charity. In the past we have donated money for St Mary's Church, Oakley School and Pre School, Thomley Hall, Children in Need and the list goes on.
If people would like to get in touch they can find out more on our facebook page 'Oakley Community Cafe'.
Oakley utd football club
Unfortunately after decades of competitive football, multiple honers as well as generations of talented footballers, OUFC folded in 2016.
We urge anyone who may be interested in starting the club again to please contact us for more details.
